Murtagh undertook the dismantling
of an oil tanker which was 25M in diameter and 16M high and
sited within an operational plant. The task was carried out
just metres away from a building that continued to process
fuel and oil products throughout the dismantling process.
The dismantling of this tank was carried out using cold cutting
methods to prepare the tank to be cold cut by using a 25M
long reach excavator with a shear attachment.
The entire works were completed without
any interruption to the on-site manufacturing and production
facilities.
Murtagh has subsequently completed
the removal of a tank farm and processing equipment from the
same site.
